French Tutoring Britannia Beach FAQs
French Tutoring Britannia Beach Private Lessons
Private lessons provide flexibility for busy individuals who only have brief amounts of time available to devote towards learning French. If you fall into this category then having private french tuition should be top priority. Here’s why:
1 hour long classes every week won’t allow enough time to master the spoken language. They’re ideal for those interested in starting a conversation and engaging with native speakers during an informal setting. But they aren’t effective for anyone wishing to reach fluency after that first stage.
On other occasions it is possible to schedule multiple 1 hour sessions in a row, giving yourself plenty of chances to practise and perfect the basics before moving onto higher level topics and advanced grammar rules. These could include things like vocabulary development, pronunciation practice and sentence composition.
If you find these types of opportunities appealing this is exactly what you’ll receive during a Private lesson. You’ll be given an agreed upon amount of hours per week plus a few extra weeks if desired for additional revision. The tutor will help teach you everything you need to speak fluent French including the structure for conversational phrases and everyday expressions, basic numbers and dates as well as common adjectives, adverbs and pronouns used in regular speech. If you’d prefer to focus solely on listening comprehension, your individual teacher will tailor your class accordingly. A good tutor will use authentic materials, teach thematically and break down complex ideas into bite size chunks making for some great studying experience....

When choosing a French teacher in Britannia Beach BCLTU, be mindful of the following traits:
Qualified Instructors
Teachers should receive specialized training after completing a thorough education program designed to meet industry standards for teaching. They must pass rigorous examinations administered by highly respected organizations including CEPTE and NATSEM; they demonstrate mastery of grammar rules through practice tests conducted by independent organizations like ELLIANT and GREPAS; and finally, they pass an exam administered by NATSEM. Once these requirements are met, they become licensed practitioners and then earn certification for individual areas of specialization like accent reduction, literature appreciation/translation, or cultural knowledge.
Skilled & Talented Teachers
Because their subjects are among the most complicated language systems in human history, skilled teachers will naturally possess deep subject expertise, an excellent command of pedagogy, solid linguistic competence, and above average communicative abilities. A good example here would be a teacher whose native tongue is French but possesses fluency in Spanish, Italian, German, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Dutch, or Chinese because languages are just another tool he uses alongside his native French. Professionalism
Not only do tutors need to understand their material thoroughly, they should be confident and comfortable presenting it in front of a group of individuals.

Do you feel stuck on certain words? Is your writing style lacking impact? Maybe you just wish to improve your overall communication skill level? These questions above are common among students who struggle to speak, read, write, listen and comprehend French at any level. So, in order to avoid wasting time and energy on studying topics that won’t help you achieve your desired result, we decided to put together this article detailing the basics every learner needs to know about French. We chose to cover these aspects because they play a vital role in becoming fluent. But first things first, let’s take a closer look at why French is considered to be one of the hardest languages for non native speakers to master. Why does it happen exactly? Well, the reason is actually quite complex but the main factor is due to the fact that unlike other European Languages which tend to follow Latin roots, French is rooted heavily in Germanic Language making pronunciation and spelling extremely complicated. Not to mention the numerous exceptions and irregularities found within the various forms of this language. For example, many nouns ending in “o” are spelled differently depending whether they contain vowels or consonants after it. On top of this some verbs have changed meaning or use completely in a different form depending on conjugation, inflection and gender. And of course, French Grammar which was once fairly similar to English is now very specific and unique unto its own. As mentioned before, the key part of being able to communicate fluently in this language lies in mastering the core concepts and structures, and knowing what parts of speech and grammatical categories exist along with their functions.
Whether you’re studying abroad, moving to Vancouver Island for work, or simply relocating to Canada’s West Coast, this comprehensive guide includes tips on everything from finding affordable accommodation to choosing the perfect course. Our experienced teachers will take you through every stage of learning and help you get fluent fast!
We’ll teach you how to speak French like a native speaker in no-time at all. We’ve helped thousands of learners achieve real fluency and master key grammar points.

What makes us different to other online schools?
TutorOne provides the ultimate experience for anyone interested in mastering French, whether they live in London or New York.
Unlike many online courses which only focus on teaching vocabulary lists and basic grammar rules, our curriculum aims to develop a deeper understanding of your target languages’ complex structures and patterns, helping you speak naturally, and understand what’s happening during conversations.
By focusing heavily on listening and speaking practice, we aim to ensure your French becomes the first thing people say and ask questions about when talking English.
How long does it usually take to become fully conversant after starting my lessons?
You don’t need to wait until after completing a full programme of study to start seeing improvements. Most learners report feeling confident enough to talk about a wide range of topics after just 10 hours per week of lessons!
If you’d just like some general guidance on the basics of conversation, check out our Beginners’ Course: Learn to Speak French Fast.
Why are we able to provide such great value?
Because we’re backed by the world’s leading education technology company, Pearson, who offer some seriously cutting edge software.
Well here are four things that most often work really well to improve anyone’s ability to study and speak the language:
1.) Read, read, read. Read books. Lots of them! Reading makes a huge difference in people’s understanding of vocabulary, grammar and structure. If you’re studying a subject matter in French, then chances are that reading material related is going to come up during your studies as well. So the key isn’t so much the actual reading; it’s the fact that you’ll find yourself immersed into French culture while doing so.
2.) Listen and talk to native speakers. Learning a foreign language through immersion means that it becomes easier to understand what other cultures say and hear than simply hearing something once or twice. A lot of people feel like they don’t enjoy listening, however; if they listen carefully, they realize how enjoyable it can actually become. It helps tremendously to practice speaking along side of those who already know the language you’re trying to master. Doing this regularly builds fluency faster than anything else.
3.) Use authentic materials. When you’re working towards mastering a particular skill, then the tools used in class should reflect that same level of proficiency. For example...if you are taking French lessons online, then use software applications written specifically for learners rather than just translating websites. Using real-life scenarios instead of abstract concepts gives learners far better comprehension of both the meaning and how to put that information into action.
4.
When starting lessons be prepared to learn things slowly, this takes some getting used to but if you really commit yourself to mastering the material you should find yourself making improvements quickly.
Practice speaking aloud. Speaking silently isn’t enough. When practicing try saying words out loud instead of mumbling. By repeating phrases back to yourself you’ll improve listening comprehension.
Use real life situations whenever possible. When I’m working through exercises at home my dog often distracts me, so I use these distractions as opportunities to practice pronunciation and vocabulary. Using real world situations helps when memorising vocabulary lists because they are familiar.
Write everything down. Whether you write notes during classes or take pictures of vocabulary words written on sticky notes around the house it’s good to capture information in some way. Having a notebook nearby is great for both remembering vocabulary and reviewing grammar concepts.
Have a go at translating sentences. Translating sentences gives you an effective tool for practising vocabulary and building confidence. For example, translate ’Je lui souhaite la bienvenue’ literally and it says “I wish her welcome”. Translate back however many times it seems necessary until you get it perfect. Once you’ve got past the initial stage of frustration you’ll notice the mistakes become less frequent, which will lead to improved accuracy.
Get help wherever you can. Ask family members or friends who might also struggle with French to provide feedback. They could offer ideas for better ways to study and reinforce concepts learned in class.
Make use of technology. Technology plays a huge role in helping us to achieve our academic goals today; we rely heavily on smartphones and tablets to assist us in studying. Take advantage of this resource to keep track of the content learned during classes.

American Express® Debit Mastercard®, Discover®, Diners Club International™, PayPal ®, Visa ® MasterCard® Debit, Maestro and Delta Pay As you probably already know, the Canadian education system places great importance upon language learning; it would be foolish indeed for anyone who wishes to continue his studies past high school level to study anything other than a foreign language. If that was the case, then why bother attending this course? Why take French lessons? Surely you’d rather learn something useful like algebra or calculus or perhaps history instead? Well, I’ll tell ya. Once you begin studying a foreign language, especially if it’s at university level or higher, you become acutely aware of just how beautiful certain words really are. Just as musicians must practice scales to perfect their technique, so too does every student of languages must practice her vocabulary until she masters those words like so many masterpieces. But the difference between people who excel at music versus those who truly excel at speaking another language is often measured in days, weeks and months instead on years spent practicing these things. The result being that people whose primary concern lies outside of academics tend to speak better than most natives because they use language daily. On top of the practical utility of good grammar and pronunciation, however, language learners come away from language classes with an appreciation of culture, which should only lead them towards becoming less ethnocentric.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference

TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment.
