Special Needs Tutoring Arthur FAQs
If you ever find yourself in the situation where you see a parent who seems desperate, ask yourself.... Is someone else getting paid for this too?! If the answer is no, then what does this mean for YOU!? Do you care? Does this person NEED you?
We live in amazing times. Children with disabilities CAN learn through play. They DO use physical movement to communicate emotions & feelings. We just haven’t given them tools necessary to express themselves properly yet.
When we work together, parents & teachers alike, children gain confidence & abilities they NEVER thought possible!!
As many of you already suspect, being on a waitlist sucks. But, imagine being on a waiting list for 5 weeks?? No matter the reason, having to go through another school system because your kids fit outside of what we consider normal is devastating. As a professional tutor, I always tell parents this.... Parents aren’t allowed to put down special ed classes until 3rd grade. By 4th Grade parents will either accept it or try harder. They never seem ready. Until they are......and then suddenly everyone wants them!!! All because of that extra $2000 cost per kid.....so please keep those doors open to us!!!! 🙂 <3
For many families, our waitlists stretch for years. While some schools get good reports, sometimes I’ll sit next to a mom/dad whose son was pulled out of his regular classrooms and placed in resource rooms after 1st grade.

1. Start with Video Lessons From Beginnerships.org. They offer videos that introduce concepts like reading, math, science, health, communication, life, language, self-care, art and music. Their videos cover topics which include everything from getting started to advanced strategies. When choosing a curriculum provider, consider whether the videos contain enough information to keep you motivated.
2. Find Teachers Who Use Video Teaching Methods For Students with Learning Disabilities. Teachers whose classrooms incorporate a form of video instruction tend to focus less on memorization than other teachers. These educators often develop lesson plans around concepts rather than rote techniques. As part of developing video lesson content, consider hiring professionals who specialize in working with young people with intellectual disabilities. Such experts should be able to capture key vocabulary, provide feedback and demonstrate effective ways to deliver instructions in different settings.
3. Make Sure Your Teacher Has A Degree In Education. While some instructors only hold a bachelors degree, many educational specialists who use video lessons go beyond earning just a college diploma. They pursue specialized training in areas related to the specific subject being taught. A good teacher could have qualifications that go well beyond what’s required to earn a bachelor degree. Be aware that those holding degrees in education tend to receive higher salaries than individuals with no academic background.
4. Don’t Rely Too Much On Technology; Teach Them Hand Written Notes Instead. Many parents are uncomfortable when technology gets involved. However, it’s critical to understand the importance of making notes by hand during certain lessons.
Are you planning a trip this summer? If yes, then you should consider visiting Canada because here everything will be better than anywhere else. Canadians always try to take advantage of the most convenient way possible to save both time and cost. For example, travelling to different parts of Canada just takes few hours while traveling abroad usually costs more. So why travel outside instead of exploring your own home town! A lot of people often visit the same places every year but they still haven’t visited some other interesting locations. Travelling in Canada becomes less boring due to the fact that almost everyone knows English speaking areas which makes international communication easier. Canadian cities are filled full of beautiful landscapes which attracts travellers from far away lands. Moreover, Canadian residents prefer to call themselves ’Canadians’ rather than saying “Citizens” or “Permanent Residents”. They use many words that foreigners would find strange yet fascinating. All these factors encourage people to explore Canada. As a result of exploration, residents often come across their ancestors’ home towns. And who wouldn’t love meeting old friends again after years? Also, Canadians tend to spend quality family time together because everyone likes spending his/her holidays with loved ones. Thus, I am positive that no matter whether you come back empty handed or bring something valuable back from Canada, life gets brighter on returning home. Therefore, my suggestion would be to go for the unforgettable experience of exploring the beautiful country. Also, remember to bring along those lovely souvenirs that you had picked up during your adventure.

For anyone wanting to become involved in this wonderful field please keep reading because below is my ultimate guide for becoming part of the tutoring community and making a serious impact in someone’s life who needs assistance with academic issues:
1. Make sure you’ve got a firm foundation in literacy and numeracy.
2. Find a mentor. Someone who has already successfully worked at teaching children. They should be willing to answer questions until you feel comfortable enough taking on those duties. A teacher with years of experience working with struggling learners would be ideal but they aren’t always available. I had a great friend in highschool named Karen who was extremely talented academically in both english & maths, she used her talents to teach me many lessons. She inspired me to pursue a post secondary degree and to always aim higher than just being average.
3. Set realistic expectations. Remember to expect and appreciate small victories along the way. Don’t take anything personally. You were taught this all in primary grade school & highschool. You must teach yourself again if you ever hope to excel in your chosen profession. Be patient; try something new every day. When we first joined, I wasn’t entirely confident using the program.
We’ll cover things like:
• Schooling options including private schooling, Montessori school and home education.
• Prerequisites, application procedures, curriculum requirements, qualifications and licensing regulations.
• Resources available to families during this transition phase
Here is something else you should consider though it won’t happen overnight: Your child isn’t going to simply walk away once they reach junior high or highschool, but instead will continue to develop into teens and young adults. And while some kids will adjust successfully while others won’t, there are ways you both can prepare your teen for life at 16 years old. One thing parents often forget is getting extra help. If you’ve already noticed your son struggles socially in class, having him work with teachers who understand his learning abilities would improve these issues quickly. But if your teen still seems awkward or immature, you’re far beyond being embarrassed. Instead, your teenager needs you to take action today to ensure he or she gets the help they deserve at this age.
Read through this resourceful article for tips on helping your teenager get a job.

If you read my last post, then I assume you had a great experience doing the research for your business. For most small business owners, researching keywords is probably only part of building an effective SEO strategy. While knowing which words people search is certainly useful—along with understanding how many times people actually use certain terms—it’s more critical to focus on other aspects, such as making your website content unique and relevant to readers’ interests.
For most families, having additional help for homework is crucial to achieving meaningful improvement in their child’s grade level. These services usually come from a certified tutor rather than someone just hanging around trying to be involved in class discussions -- this gives the student extra practice in areas specific to his/her particular skill sets without putting stress on other subject areas. They provide assistance beyond regular study sessions which allow educators and parents alike to monitor how well the child’s overall knowledge base is being challenged as opposed to simply memorizing facts and information. For some kids, getting a break from constant test prep and busy classroom distractions would actually improve their ability to focus on long term mastery of subjects.
When considering whether to hire a specialist teacher or a general education teacher for afterschool care, I’d advise checking out both options carefully. General instructors sometimes specialize in certain curriculum areas, but typically spend no significant amount of time in the area outside of classroom hours. A general instructor won’t necessarily understand the nuances of individual program requirements nor the ins-and-outs of working with a group environment. A private educator however knows exactly how she works her magic because she specializes -- and excels -- in helping specific types of learners achieve desired outcomes. If you’re seeking something closer to private tutorial, then ask yourself “What am I really looking for?” You’ll soon discover the answer will determine whether you choose a general lesson coordinator or if hiring a professional makes sense.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
