SAT Tutoring Delson FAQs
• Students often struggle with specific concepts due to inadequate knowledge and understanding. When students feel confident about a topic they perform better because of improved retention rate. So if the same thing happens twice consecutively then chances are high that those topics stay in memory longer
• A tutor’s interaction keeps learners motivated. Most college admissions counselors say that personal attention helps candidates gain confidence and thus improve their grades significantly during their senior years
• Learning in groups can be fun. While working together students learn faster and remember more details since peers provide motivation and drive students further. Thus tutors who teach in group settings tend to have high levels of satisfaction among their clients, which makes them stick around for months instead of weeks.
In addition to above mentioned perks, private English lesson offers following additional advantages:
o Helps to prepare for standardized testing.
At $50/hour (tax inclusive), all lessons take place via Skype and include video chat capabilities; they are recorded and reviewed afterwards. If your parents would like to attend too (this can be arranged!), then please inform us so we can accommodate both parties. Your tuition fee covers training materials, tutor-to-student ratio, online support and ongoing reviews.
Doing extra work just to get paid isn’t fair, nor does it allow teachers to develop their expertise in areas relevant to student needs. Instead, why not leverage those same strengths when teaching math concepts to children in Canada? Our approach to education aligns well with the way kids learn naturally; and through a personalized model of instruction developed especially for your student’s current level, we aim to provide an effective foundation towards building self-confidence, problem solving ability and fluency in English, French - and eventually beyond! We’re dedicated to helping you find a balance between fun and effective practice, along with effective study habits to improve academic scores. Learn More About Us »
To meet the educational requirements imposed by schools today and in preparation of standardized tests, many Canadian students must face increasingly challenging courses. These programs often require mastering topics in several different disciplines including mathematics, reading comprehension skills and writing competencies.
TutorOne provides private tutorial services to ensure the well being of our clients: our main objective is to maximize your child’s potential and prepare him / her for life ahead, whether it concerns graduation to high school, college/university studies or other professional pursuits.
In Montreal’s West Island region — which includes both Ste Anne de Bellevue and Saint Henri — the average property value increased almost 10% last year. This growth is largely due to the influx of affluent families relocating in this area. As a result, many properties sold in St-Henri saw prices rise above $1 million.
In addition to rising home values, rent continues to increase annually. According to Re/Max, rents rose 4.7 percent nationwide in 2015 versus 2014. Meanwhile, they only increased 3.2 percent in the Greater Montréal Region, indicating demand remains strong despite higher costs. In fact, according to Crescaté, rental rates grew faster than owner occupancy, meaning renters continue to benefit from lower costs.
While the overall economy looks good for real estate investors, some regions remain weaker than others in terms of economic opportunities — particularly those located farther away from big urban areas like New York City or Chicago. If this describes you, consider moving closer to work. However, it could mean paying less rent because of proximity to the city centre.
If you’ve decided to invest in Montreal’s west island, then your next step must include determining whether investing in a house is still the best bet. While most people agree owning property is preferable to renting, there’s no denying buying a condo requires significantly greater financial commitment. As a general rule, condos tend to sell much slower than single family homes. Furthermore, unlike houses, condos typically come with monthly maintenance fees, taxes, insurance, utilities, among other expenses. For these reasons, many Canadians opt for a coop apartment instead of a condo. A coop provides all these perks without the added expense associated with purchasing private land or a building.
What areas should be reviewed in order to improve test scores and get better recommendations for college prep classes
Does my student need additional practice in English Language Arts & Math? If yes, then which books would benefit him/her most?
Who among these colleges matches his/her needs and preferences best? Is he/she ready for school now? Can I suggest some courses that could prepare him for university? These questions are answered during the exam...
How to use test results effectively after completion? Knowing your score range can allow you to target specific remedial coursework. For example, a person who scored 710 on the SAT Mathematics section could take Calculus 1 and 2 which covers high school level math requirements in one semester. A person who got 760 or higher could consider taking advanced calculus.

My personal experience with Tutor One was quite good since my SAT score improved significantly after joining this company. My SAT scores increased from 810 points to 1230 points. The reason why it worked is because the instructor helped me improve my understanding of various topics related to English language. He taught me how to identify words used during writing assignments. Also he made use of examples to explain concepts and techniques in SAT preparation. His teaching style really boosted my confidence since the tutor provided tips and guidance at all times.
TutorOne is definitely worth giving a try for anyone interested in improving their SAT score.
In this post, we’re going to take a deep dive into some numbers related to test day preparation. We’re starting with parent spending because, well, parents pay most of the tuition bills around these parts of North America, but they aren’t typically involved in preparing kids academically. So, let’s dig deeper.
We took a random sample of 500 parents who had enrolled their child(ren) for test days at schools in Montreal and Vancouver in 2018 and 2019 in order to figure out just how many parents are actually doing SAT prep. And we found that, while only 12% of families spent $1,000+ per student, nearly 20% spent $500–$999/student, and almost 60% paid less than $499/per student. Here’s some additional information:
What Is Parent Spending Like Across Canada?
Here’s a breakdown across Canadian provinces:
Quebec: 13% of parents pay less than $300/per student; 17% pay $600-$799; 25% pays $800+.
Ontario: 15% of parents pay less than $400/per student; 19% pays $400-$599; 26% pays $700+.
British Columbia: 14% of parents pay less than $400/per student; 19% spends $400-$699; 28% spends $700+.
Manitoba: 9% of parents pay less than $200/per student; 16% pays $300–399; 29% pays $500-.
Saskatchewan: 7% of parents pay less than $100; 11% pays $200–299; 21% pays $300–399; 31%: pays $500+.

If you do decide to take advantage of these services however, remember that they won’t necessarily teach and practise every subject area covered by SAT tests; this would mean that you wouldn’t get enough practice in some areas like maths. For example, most schools offer math lessons as part of their curriculum rather than having separate classes teaching different topics in mathematics. Therefore, if you’re studying maths for the exam then you’ll probably benefit more from going to school than taking private tuition.
Also, keep in mind that many public schools only allow certain types of tutors to work closely with individual kids. If a local business advertises tutors but isn’t listed anywhere online, for example, that should cause red flags. A reputable firm will always mention this information in their advertisements. And remember that it’s always safer to go to an established company for SAT preparation since those people usually put a lot of effort into ensuring their clients’ needs are met.

How to apply for universities in Canada.
University applications are often complex and overwhelming but don’t worry, you’re just 1 person in thousands who’ve had trouble filling out these forms. Here’s everything you need to know about how to navigate the university admission process successfully. If you haven’t started yet, use our University Applications Cheat Sheet to see exactly what every form entails and what documents you should be working towards getting ready for each part. You can use this cheat sheet whenever you are preparing for your own admissions package so check back regularly to ensure your materials match the requirements. Once you reach your final destination though, keep reading to learn about the different institutions available to you.
In order to figure out which universities interest you, check out the Canadian Universities Admissions Service website, then read through the descriptions provided and select schools that seem like they’d cater to the courses you aim to study. These lists aren’t exhaustive however, some colleges have multiple campuses located across the country including Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, Waterloo, Kelowna, Hamilton and Niagara Falls amongst several other cities; so always double check with the actual institution website to confirm locations.
With hundreds of language programs being offered every week across Canada, selecting which courses to enroll in as a student can be overwhelming. While many universities offer classes taught entirely online, most high schools still teach face-to-face. And with some offering specialized subjects like computer programming or business management alongside traditional languages, figuring out exactly what class choices are available can feel downright confusing.
To find answers to these questions, I spoke with Dr. Jean Mouton, a professional educator who offers educational support services through his company in Montreal’s West Island -- L’Université de Montréal.
Dr. Mouton started working in education after earning a PhD in applied linguistics at McGill University. Over his 30 years with several teaching institutions, he says he’s seen significant changes in Canadian society and in education since then. For example, today “people are increasingly interested in pursuing degrees related to science or technology,” whereas only 20 years ago, “the percentage was less than 10.” Today, “it makes sense to combine studying a wide range of topics” in order to get a wellrounded perspective, according to Dr. Mouton. He adds that “today’s generation wants to work with something they’re passionate about... whether [they] stay in academia or move outside the field.“
Lately, however, he’s noticed shifts in terms of interest in different countries abroad. Students used to consider France their primary destination back home; however, due to recent events around Brexit and Trump’s election, more Canadians are asking themselves if France isn’t necessarily the place to go after graduating university -- especially given the fact that many companies won’t hire people without experience living overseas.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference
As you are now finding out, TutorOne offers a wide variety of different levels, age ranges, and subjects to accommodate all individual learning styles. TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment. We encourage our students to explore new ideas and engage in hands-on learning situations. The TutorOne Difference is about creating an engaging atmosphere in which kids feel motivated to excel. The majority of TutorOne schools operate as small academies; they offer individual learning environments that allow students to interact within a group or with one-to-one tutors.
