This time around (I’m only halfway through), I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and write something completely different than what ever class assignments required me to produce previously. After thinking long and hard about topics for several months prior to taking the test, I finally settled upon “Why people do NOT buy new cars despite being offered lower monthly payments”. From there - once I felt confident - I began researching possible sources that could shed light on what makes car buyers tick. As someone who isn’t necessarily fond of driving automobiles, knowing WHY consumers continue buying vehicles made a world of difference. Without further ado, here’s what I came up with:

A: Chelsea is located in Southwestern Québec, Canada, just 30 minutes south west from Montreal’s West Island area. Its population is around 150 000 people, mostly immigrants, who settled the city after WWII. Although this little town is known for having the lowest income rate among cities and towns across Québec, most of the working residents live nearby big cities like Trois Rivières and Longueuil. Most of them commute daily to work, either driving or going via bus services available in many municipalities. However because the transportation network is quite dense and well designed, getting around easily without a car is easy, especially since the vast majority of homes have front doors facing streets； therefore no street parking required.
Many young families settle down along Notre Dame des Neiges Boulevard, which runs parallel to Hwy 20 connecting these communities. While the residential areas offer plenty of space for housing developments, many commercial establishments lie along the same road. The shopping centres include the large Zellwood Centre Mall, Les Galeries Ste Anne department store and numerous smaller retail outlets including grocery stores, pharmacies and bakeries.
For the past few years, the economy was relatively stable but since 2017, the local real estate market started seeing a growth rate higher than ever. As a consequence, property prices increased significantly, making some neighbourhoods unaffordable for newcomers. Because of this, many young professionals left Saint-Jean pour l’école et du travail en ville de Montréal and moved elsewhere, mainly in neighbouring Saint-Laurent and Pointe-Claire boroughs. Since then, many high school students living close to the downtown core decided to attend secondary schools outside of Montréal-Nord instead of St.- Jean, causing the decrease in enrollment to drop drastically.
Because of this shift away from St. Denis, Chelsea became home for thousands of immigrant workers seeking affordable houses.

A: In this article I’m going to be talking about the many different ways in which science can be taught, including hands on experience, lectures, demonstrations, experiments, games & quizzes and other innovative methods. We’ll also take a quick glance at the types of science courses offered at schools around town, and some key factors to consider when choosing the most suitable course for your needs.

A: What makes science enjoyable? Well, I guess this really depends upon who you ask but I would say that having someone show me something that was beautiful and fascinating made my day just as exciting as finding out whether or not we had won another game against the Rangers.
I mean, come on – isn’t scientific curiosity why we love science class in school?!
But did you ever stop to consider that sometimes life throws us those situations where we actually get to see things like gravity happen? Where we could see atoms smash together to form other substances which end up forming bigger structures and eventually entire planets? Or, even further than that, where everything we experience in life comes down ultimately to particles smashing around until they finally collide into some larger object like ourselves? Isn’t it interesting how the world works? Sometimes, I feel like we humans try to wrap our heads around these complex questions because science classes help teach us about the way the universe operates on a small scale or a large scale – sometimes both. And, honestly, wouldn’t it be great to use knowledge acquired through education to understand how things work better? Wouldn’t it be cool to find out how to harness the power of electrons to run cars instead of relying solely on gas?
So then, how’d we figure this little adventure out? Like most people in history, it seemed unlikely we would stumble across anything amazing without asking questions first. So I figured “Why shouldn’t I learn about the big bang theory?” You see, we already knew that scientists believe that a massive explosion occurred approximately 13 billion years ago due to what’s called “the Big Bang Theory.” But I still wondered exactly what happened after that point? Wasn’t I curious enough to keep exploring though?
Well, turns out I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. Scientists who came before us thought that perhaps life started with single cells floating around in water and somehow managed to survive without a solid structure to hold onto.

Your children deserve quality education, but most school teachers lack valuable knowledge and experience related to teaching subjects like Physics & Chemistry. And since they work inside schools instead of outside in labs and observatories, these experts often only have classroom instruction to refer back upon, lacking hands-on experiences to go along with it. They cannot be relied upon for real expertise. On top of this, many of those who teach science classes at school spend little to no effort putting together detailed lesson plans or curriculum. Their methodologies tend towards memorization rather than experimentation. In order to overcome this situation, I have begun offering weekly science workshops online. My methods involve carefully selected experiments combined with fun quizzes and tests designed to develop problem solving skills. These courses include my own homemade chemistry equipment for use in class, which makes the whole enterprise less expensive for both me and the student, all without sacrificing the excellent educational value normally provided by high end lab facilities. Each week’s lesson builds on the previous material until finally culminating in an exam. By the end of six weeks’ worth of lessons, students should be well equipped to tackle any physics problems put forward； plus they’ll already know exactly why things happen during chemical reactions, thanks to visual demonstrations coupled with explanations backed up by thorough scientific reasoning. Students receive full grade credit and enjoy their freedom from homework due dates and other demands imposed by the academic system. As long as kids show up regularly at scheduled times, attendance becomes optional. Most importantly, those who attend learn faster because of better concentration and attention, resulting in improved grades.
Why Science Workshops? Our approach is centered around helping students find enjoyment in topics such as Chemistry, Physics and Biology. At first glance, the concepts behind modern research seem complex and dry.

A: There are many benefits associated with getting children interested in science early on. One great way to engage kids is through hands on projects. Kids learn better when they feel like something tangible is happening during the lessons that interest them. The key to making this work well is having fun projects that involve real world materials that you use everyday, like water and baking soda. These projects give kids something to be excited about and something to actually work on in class. If you’re teaching chemistry, try a project that involves mixing different substances together or working with electricity. For physics classes, try doing experiments involving magnets, gravity and other forces.
Another good thing about these types of projects is that they teach kids a lot about themselves. As they are trying to understand a concept, they’ll often ask questions about why the experiment worked the way it did. They’ll also notice things about themselves that they wouldn’t normally pay attention to. By asking these kinds of questions, kids gain insight into who they really are in a classroom setting.
If you’d rather just watch than actively participate, then consider watching some short video clips that show you the basics. A few examples of this would be videos showing how the human body moves, what makes up atoms, or what causes friction. If you want to see what happens when something gets hot enough, try making a Bunsen Burner.
Finally, one of the most effective ways to help your kid develop a passion for science is through play time. Playtime should always come first and should be the main focus of every lesson. When you’re playing outside in nature, your brain is exposed to lots of chemicals which stimulate growth. Playing outdoors helps keep kids healthy because their bodies aren’t confined inside classrooms all day, but instead are outside enjoying fresh air, sunshine, exercise, interaction with friends, pets and wildlife. All of these factors can contribute to building strong memories and helping kids become lifelong learners.
