A: In this article I am going to help parents understand why math should be taught differently than they have learned. We must teach children through discovery, hands-on experience and problem solving. When teaching kids math this way we are helping them grasp concepts faster without having boring memorization lessons. By doing these things we allow our children to see the beauty of mathematics instead of just rote memory practice. The reason why I wanted to write my own version of “Math Lessons to Go Back Home” was because I had struggled through many bad teachers who tried to cram everything down my throat. At 12 years old I remember being given homework that would take me several hours to complete. My teacher would expect me to answer every question perfectly which made sense back then but wasn’t realistic anymore. As I grew older I found myself stuck working harder and longer to pass tests and get good marks. Eventually I realized my education system was failing me as well as my peers who suffered under similar circumstances. I decided to become a homeschooling parent as soon as possible. Since then I have helped hundreds of families learn on their own terms. Our approach makes us experts because we focus on real life situations. For example, when studying numbers 1 & 2； we ask questions like ‘What does 100 times 7 feel like?’ Or, ‘When dividing 20/10 tell yourself what kind of units (dime, nickel, penny) it feels like you are adding together.’ If you follow our methods, you will find the answers come quickly and naturally without relying heavily on memorization techniques.

A: There’s no doubt about it - math can be tough! At times we just wish kids would stop doing those pesky addition problems and just do something else like read a book or play with some legos instead.
However, at the same time, math isn’t the enemy...and neither should it become that way! We’ve got lots of tips from parents who’ve discovered amazing ways they use math outside of class to bring positive changes to the lives of their children. So whether you’re having trouble getting your son/daughter motivated to learn the multiplication tables or you’re struggling with your own learning difficulties, these ideas will help. Whether your kid loves sports or music, or dreams of becoming Dr Who, these tips include fun things like writing down numbers from memory and playing games like Sudoku. They’ll keep her busy and provide great opportunities for practicing mathematical concepts without feeling forced! Our favorite tip? Give a gift certificate to a local grocer and tell him or her you’d prefer “to buy something special this Xmas” than anything electronic. Why just take cash? Well the recipient knows exactly what presents he or she wants because they already chose which store to visit. A: To begin with, our tutors offer math lessons for grade level 1, 2, 3 and 4 students. Our primary focus lies on elementary school math courses but we are experienced in working with most middle level classes as well. We provide one on one sessions. Each lesson consists of 45 minutes long which includes 10 minutes of prep work. After this homework, we move onto solving actual problems together.
We believe every student should be able to feel like they understand topics through questions instead of memorization. A: Have I ever told you about my hometown? Well, if you haven’t heard about me yet then hopefully this post helps to introduce myself and why I’m here. If you already know who I am then keep reading because there’s still plenty to learn about the school district in which I live, including details like what I study (math), where I go (Grasswood Public School #7), when I meet with my professors (3rd period), how many math courses I take per semester (5th grade math and highschool Algebra II), and even some information about my favorite teacher(Mrs. Ritter). While most people spend this part of the summer preparing for next fall’s test prep sessions, I spent this time playing soccer with friends or spending quality time in front of Netflix. But alas, since it’s August 15th I knew I had to put down my smartphone and pick up something else. Because I enjoy getting outside whenever possible, I decided to use the remaining day to visit local farms around town (weirdo?) and learn more about the agricultural industry. After visiting four different locations across town I finally settled into seeing first hand everything that goes on behind the scenes. These visits helped remind me just how blessed I am to be living near grassland farmland. Grasswood Public Schools was founded by former farmers who wanted their children educated alongside working hands rather than book smart kids who were separated from everyday life； they saw firsthand the difference these lessons made for their community. Today the school board continues to strive toward keeping agriculture production central to teaching young minds from kindergarten through 12th grade. As of 2011, over 85% of Grade 9 students participated in ag related classes and extracurricular activities and 90% of 11th graders took farm science course.
